News & Events | Press ReleasesSionex Continues to Strengthen its Patent Portfolio Company has added 7 patents to its portfolio so far in 2006 BEDFORD, Mass.- October 17, 2006 - Sionex Corporation, a company focused on commercializing breakthrough chemical and biological sensors and sub-systems, today announced that the US Patent Office has issued a further seven (7) patents to add to its existing portfolio.
These newly issued patents add to Sionex's core IP for the microDMx™ technology and further extend its applicability for a wide range of analysis, monitoring and detection scenarios. The microDMx technology allows the detection of chemical compounds down to parts per trillion (ppt) levels with a degree of specificity unmatched by any other current technology. "Sionex is continually strengthening our patent portfolio as a key strategy," said Raanan Miller, Sionex's founder and chief technology officer. "Part of that strategy is to foster and develop key relationships and collaborations with world-class research institutes and academia. We still have an extremely close relationship with The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, MA, for developments and improvements to our technology." Sionex was founded in 2001 with technology exclusively licensed from The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory where Sionex has exclusive commercialization rights to this core IP.
