In light of the current geopolitical climate, protecting the protectors is of utmost importance. Armed forces worldwide can only protect their populations if they themselves can perform their roles. Sionex has the capability to use its microDMx™ technology to enhance the current level of protection offered to troops.

False positives are a major concern in this market; life is put in danger by monitors responding when no threat actually exists. microDMx™ uses multiple pieces of information together with sophisticated algorithms to arrive at an alarm condition. Current state-of-the-art products only use one piece of information and are highly susceptible to interferences.

Sionex is engaged in discussions with a number of government defense contractors and governments about providing its microDMx™ sensor chip products to be incorporated in a number of handheld and portable monitors for identifying chemical warfare agents. Because of lower manufacturing costs, it is seen that such monitors can be deployed on a much wider basis than is currently conducted.

Sionex has already successfully demonstrated the ability of its technology to monitor and detect chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals and toxic industrial materials. Tests have illustrated superior sensitivity and selectivity over other detection technologies currently deployed.

Sionex is also currently conducting research into the use of its microDMx™ technology for the detection and monitoring of biological warfare agents.
